yellow gold antique amethyst ring, weighing 4.6 grams and measuring
5/8" in length. The filigree scrollwork, surrounding the
round faceted amethyst, is reminiscent of an old-fashioned ironwork
gate. Circa 1930s.
Amethyst
is the violet-colored member of the quartz family; its name comes
from the Greek amethustos, or "not to intoxicate."
